The Kumasi media has witnessed a proliferation of Christian ministers of late; they preach frequently on air, public places and in the churches almost every day. There is the need, therefore, to examine the contents of their messages to ascertain their focus. The messages of the contemporary preachers were scrutinized with Paul’s statement in Acts 20:30“Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them” (Acts 20:30, NIV). This thesis sought to find out the foci of Christian preachers in Kumasi today. Primary data was gathered from interviews of selected preachers and churches in Kumasi. Secondary data was obtained from books, journals, unpublished works, internet sources, among others. The study found out that most of the preachers in Kumasi focus on one of the following in isolation: prosperity, encouragement, planning for the future, righteousness and advertising of the self at the detriment of Biblical preaching. It is being recommended that preachers should deliver their message from Biblical texts, well explained in context, before applying it to the needs of their audiences.
